Hi, I’m Bengin. I’m a software engineer, and I write everything on this site.

I research and test plug-in solar setups and the home energy automation around them, mostly with Home Assistant. Plug-in solar is still new in the US, the rules differ from state to state, and a lot of what you find online is written by the companies selling the kits. This site is my attempt at plain answers: what the law says, what the hardware does, and what you can expect to get out of it.
